Plans will be available for pickup on March 15, 2016 from 8:00am to 1:00pm at the TELACU Construction Management office on site at HAWTHORNE HIGH SCHOOL, 4859 W. El Segundo Blvd, Hawthorne CA 90250. The DISTRICT requires that the bidder possess the following classification of contractor's license at the time the bid is submitted: A or B. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid security in the form of cash, a certified or cashier's check or bid bond in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid price, payable to the DISTRICT. The DISTRICT reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding process. The California Department of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rates of per diem wages for the locality in which the work is to be performed for the Project. Copies of these wage rate determinations, entitled Prevailing Wage Scale, are maintained at the DISTRICT office and are available at the following website: www.dir.ca.gov. It shall be mandatory upon the successful bidder to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor listed, to pay not less than the said specified rates to all workers employed by them for the Project. The successful bidder and any listed subcontractor(s) will be required to abide by the DISTRICT's Labor Compliance Program as approved by the California Department of Industrial Relations. Labor Code Section 1771.7. No bidder may withdraw any bid for a period of ninety (90) calendar days after the date set for the opening of bids. Pursuant to Public Contract Code Section 22300, the Agreement will contain provisions permitting the successful bidder to substitute securities for any monies withheld by the DISTRICT to ensure performance under the Agreement or permitting payment of retentions earned directly into escrow.
