Torrance Daily Breeze, DB 9-14 NOTICE OF CITY OF LOMITA PLANNING COMMISSION SPECIAL MEETING CONTINUED PUBLIC HEARING AND FIELD VISIT The Chair of the Lomita Planning Commission has called a special meeting for 5:30 p.m. on Monday, September 12, 2016 pursuant to California Government Code Section 54956 to consider only those matters set forth below. THE PLANNING COMMISSION SPECIAL MEETING WILL CONVENE AT The northeast corner of the intersection of Appian Way and 258th Place Lomita, California 90717 (TAKE NOTE THIS IS NOT THE USUAL LOCATION FOR PLANNING COMMISSION MEETINGS) Field Visit- Continued Public Hearing on Site Plan No. 1171, a Site Plan Review of a block wall with a varying height of 10'6" to fourteen feet for the property located at 25816 Walnut Ave., the wall will run parallel to the Appian Way (east) property line on APN No's. 7553-010-040, 041, and 060. Pursuant to Section 11-1.30.07 of the Lomita Municipal Code, walls exceeding six feet in height are subject to Site Plan Review and Modification. The subject property is located in the R-1, Single Family Residential Zone. Initiated and filed by Shakil Patel of 25982 Hinkley St. Loma Linda, CA 92354. This item was heard at the August 8th, 2016 Planning Commission meeting, where it was continued so a silhouette of the height of the proposed wall could be constructed. The silhouette of the wall is located at the rear property line of the property at Appian Way, near the intersection with 258th Place. The sole purpose of this meeting is to conduct a field visit and for staff to present a staff report. No public comment or commission deliberation on this item will take place during the field visit. Following the field visit, the special meeting will recess and reconvene at Lomita City Hall, City Council Chambers, 24300 Narbonne Avenue, Lomita, CA 90717. This special meeting will be immediately followed by the Regular Meeting of the Lomita Planning Commission at 6:30 p.m. in the Lomita City Council Chambers. For more information about the project, please contact the Planning Division between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on alternating Fridays. The Community Development Department is located at 24300 Narbonne Avenue in Lomita. You may also call the Planning Division at (310) 325-7110, ext. 122 or submit a letter to the Planning Commission, in care of the Planning Division, on or before the hearing date. On or about five days before the hearing date you can review project materials including the staff report and proposed plans, if applicable on the Planning Commission's webpage of the City's website located at: http://www.lomita.com/cityhall/city_agendas/ In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, if you need special assistance to participate in this meeting, please contact the office of the City Clerk at (310) 325-7110. Notification at least 72 hours prior to the meeting will enable the City to make reasonable arrangements to allow participation at this meeting.
