Torrance Daily Breeze, DB 6-67 CITY OF LOMITA CITY COUNCIL NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING The Lomita City Council will hold a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2016, in the Lomita City Hall Council Chambers, 24300 Narbonne Avenue, to consider the following: Negative Declaration 2016-01, Zone Text Amendment 2015-04, & Conditional Use Permit No. 298, a Zone Text Amendment to permit drive-thru uses within the Commercial Retail zone subject to a conditional use permit, and a conditional use permit to allow a new 850 square foot Starbucks drive-thru only with outdoor dining and associated signage. The project is located in the Commercial Retail Zone, at 1730 through 1734 Pacific Coast Highway, in the jurisdictions of the City of Lomita and the City of Los Angeles. Initiated and filed by Starbucks Coffee Company, c/o Charlie Arbing, 17700 Newhope St., Fountain Valley, CA 92708. Staff is recommending the City Council adopt a negative declaration (ND 2016-01) for the proposed project. The negative declaration and initial study are available at City Hall and on the City's website at: http://www.lomita.com/cityhall/government /commdev/index.cfm?p=notices_documents.cfm For more information about these projects, please contact the Planning Division between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on alternating Fridays. The Community Development Department is located at 24300 Narbonne Avenue in Lomita. You may also call the Planning Division at (310) 325-7110, ext. 122 or submit a letter to the City Council, in care of the Planning Division, on or before the hearing date. At the public hearing you may appear and be heard or you may write to the City Council in support of or in opposition to this matter. If you challenge the decision of the City Council in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues that were raised at this public hearing or in written correspondence delivered to the City Council at or before the hearing. You will be allowed five (5) minutes to speak before the City Council. In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, if you need special assistance to participate in this meeting, please contact the office of the City Clerk at (310) 325-7110. Notification at least 72 hours prior to the meeting will enable the City to make reasonable arrangements to allow participation at this meeting.
