Torrance Daily Breeze, DB 4-37 NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS CALLING FOR BIDS DISTRICT: SANTA MONICA COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the above-named California Community College District, acting by and through its Board of Trustees, hereinafter "the District" will receive up to, but not later than the above-stated date and time, sealed Bid Proposals for the Contract for the Work of the Project generally described as: AET AND KCRW AUDIO VISUAL AND BROADCAST SYSTEMS. This project includes the installation of infrastructure and equipment for Radio Broadcast, Live Performance, Audio, Film and 4K Video Production along with the installation of rooftop satellite, microwave and antenna equipment and theatrical lighting. TERMS AND CONDITIONS The District has determined that ALL BIDDERS ON THE PROJECT MUST BE PREVIOUSLY PREQUALIFIED prior to submitting a bid on that Project. It is mandatory that all Contractors who intend to submit a bid, have fully completed the pre-qualification questionnaire, provided all materials requested therein by November 18, 2015, and already be approved by the District to be on the final qualified Bidders list. No bid will be accepted from a Contractor that has failed to comply with these requirements. DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF BID PROPOSALS: 10:00 AM, TUESDAY, May 24, 2016. LOCATION FOR SUBMISSION OF BID PROPOSALS: SANTA MONICA COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT, CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT OFFICE, 2020 Pico Blvd, Santa Monica, CA ATTENTION: LEE PAUL 1. Contractors License Classification. In accordance with the provisions of California Public Contract Code §3300, the District requires that Bidders possess the following classification(s) of California Contractors License C-7. Any Bidder not so duly and properly licensed shall be subject to all penalties imposed by law. 2. Labor Compliance Program (AB 1506). The District has established a Labor Compliance Program ('LCP") pursuant to Labor Code 1771.5. The Contractor awarded the Contract for the Work shall comply with the LCP and provisions of the Contract Documents relating to implementation, compliance with, and enforcement of the LCP. 3. No Withdrawal of Bid Proposals. Bid Proposals shall not be withdrawn by any Bidder for a period of sixty (60) days after the opening of Bid Proposals. During this time, all Bidders shall guarantee prices quoted in their respective Bid Proposals. 4. Job-Walk. The District will conduct a Mandatory Job Walk on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 beginning at 9:00 am. Bidder's attendance at the Job Walk is mandatory. Bidders are to meet at the AET Campus, located at 1660 Stewart St, Santa Monica, CA 90404,in front of construction gate off Stewart St, next to Big Blue Bus Stop for conduct of the Job Walk. All attendees must wear hard hats, vests and appropriate shoes/clothing for an active construction site. The Bid Proposal submitted by a Bidder whose representative(s) did not attend the entirety of the Mandatory Job Walk will be rejected by the District as being non-responsive. 5. Pursuant to California Public Contract Code §22300, the contractor shall be permitted to substitute securities for any monies withheld by the District to ensure performance under this contract. 6. The Contract for the Work, if awarded, will be by action of the District's Board of Trustees to the responsible Bidder submitting the lowest priced responsive Bid Proposal.
